Then Mary said: ​“I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be with me just as you have said.”

​Mary’s life took a dramatic turn when God sent His messenger, Gabriel, to announce that she had been chosen to bear Jesus, the Son of the Most High.  Mary is a virgin pledged in marriage to Joseph.  She is no doubt perplexed and confused. But the character of this chosen one is immediately revealed.  Her humble response to this announcement is one of servanthood.

“ Let it be with me just as you have said.”

​What an exemplary attitude of servanthood. Not knowing what lies ahead, Mary demonstrates a trusting submission to God and His plan for her life.  Are we able to accept God’s plan for our lives with as much grace and humility as Mary?  God can do inconceivable things in our lives if we entrust the journey to His care.  May it be so according to His will.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to bow in humble submission to your plan and will for my life.  Help me to honor and trust you at all times and in all things.
