Missions giving at FMH is separate from the General Giving Campaign. Over the course of the next year, our church’s theme will be “one together.” The words come from our communion liturgy, a pledge we make to each time we come to the table: to worship and learn and serve together. “One with Christ, one with each other, and one in mission to all the world.”
This is our charge, and this is our calling. We want to be a church dedicated to being one body, with one vision, one mission, unified together with one voice. That unity, that solidarity – that is what being the body of Christ truly means.
God puts us in community to do the hard work of becoming one, and that is work we are committed to doing. We lay disagreements aside, and focus on binding ourselves together in one accord.
As you consider your pledge for the following year, we hope that you will commit yourself to that vision. We are made one by working together in faith, and it is only by that commitment that this body can make an impact on this world.
Please complete our pledge form to support 2021-2022 FMH Missions.

Lifeline to the Homeless
Lifeline to the Homeless is an extension ministry of First Methodist Houston. Our outreach to the homeless caters to the transient population living primarily in the downtown area. Lifeline meets the basic needs of our clients by providing food and clothing with kindness, love, and dignity. We truly want to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus. In addition to meeting basic needs, we also provide Metro bus cards for written appointments, rental assistance, specific job-related clothing and tools, and referrals to other agencies. Lifeline wants to help clients that need the extra boost to get back on their feet.
Neighbors in Action
Only with the faithful support of individuals, families, and organizations that share our belief in helping neighborhoods in need, Neighbors in Action has been able to make an impact in the Port Houston community. We ask that you prayerfully consider joining us on this journey.
Quillian Scholarship Fund – Put a Smile on A Child
Each year Quillian Center works hard to raise scholarships for children to attend our after school, youth sports and summer camp programming. Our Put a Smile on A Child Campaign helps us give back to families who are in need of financial assistance. It is a rewarding feeling to be able to provide that help to our community and be a space where our families know we are safe and secure for their children. If you would like to contribute to the Put a Smile on a Child Campaign please contact the Executive Director of Quillian Center, Tom Gaden at [email protected] or at 713-458-4705. Any donations received will be greatly appreciated and will benefit many children in our program.
