Giving at First Methodist Houston

Thank you for your faithful support of the ministries here at First Methodist Houston, as we carry the Word of Jesus Christ to Houston and the world!

WAYS TO GIVE

We have several ways to give to the ministries here at First Methodist Houston. Please pick the one that is most convenient for you! If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Finance Office.

We have made it even easier for you to give by text. If you would like to give by text, text “FMH” and the amount you wish to give to 73256. For example, if you would like to give $50 you would text FMH $50 to 73256.

Quillian Scholarship Fund – Put a Smile on A Child

Each year Quillian Center works hard to raise scholarships for children to attend our after school, youth sports and summer camp programming. Our Put a Smile on A Child Campaign helps us give back to families who are in need of financial assistance. It is a rewarding feeling to be able to provide that help to our community and be a space where our families know we are safe and secure for their children. If you would like to contribute to the Put a Smile on a Child Campaign please contact the Executive Director of Quillian Center, Tom Gaden at [email protected] or at 713-458-4705. Any donations received will be greatly appreciated and will benefit many children in our program.

Mission Offering

During Covid-19, we have been serving thousands of people with a variety of needs. Your generosity has made this possible, and has allowed our church, to respond in the name of Jesus.

Two needs that continue to increase are for food and housing assistance. People who have lost their jobs or had work hours reduced are having trouble supplying basic needs to care for their families.

The Easter Offering this year will go to help feed families and help people stay in their homes, so they can focus on securing work and supporting the emotional needs of their children.

Missions giving at FMH is separate from the General Giving Campaign each January. When you make a pledge to Missions, you are supporting the work of FMH in Houston and around the world, to poor and oppressed people and to those who have not yet heard the Gospel.

The pledge is a one-year commitment. Your pledge will begin in October of 2020 and be completed in September of 2021, when you will have a chance to renew your commitment.

Please complete our pledge card to support 2020-2021 FMH Missions.

The Altar-Umoja

Thank you for supporting our contemporary worship service which includes the flavors of Africa and the Swahili and French languages.

Lifeline to the Homeless

Lifeline to the Homeless is an extension ministry of First Methodist Houston. Our outreach to the homeless caters to the transient population living primarily in the downtown area. Lifeline meets the basic needs of our clients by providing food and clothing with kindness, love, and dignity. We truly want to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus. In addition to meeting basic needs, we also provide Metro bus cards for written appointments, rental assistance, specific job-related clothing and tools, and referrals to other agencies. Lifeline wants to help clients that need the extra boost to get back on their feet.

Neighbors in Action

Only with the faithful support of individuals, families, and organizations that share our belief in helping neighborhoods in need, Neighbors in Action has been able to make an impact in the Port Houston community. We ask that you prayerfully consider joining us on this journey.

COVID-19 Support

If you are able to help those encountering hardship due to Covid-19, please make your donations to our Missions Ministry.
