First Students, our ministry designed for grades 5-12, is a place for students to connect and grow with each other and with God through relevant and engaging worship, small groups, missions, and fun special events. It is our prayer that each child here at First Methodist:
- Loves God and is empowered to share the love of Christ with others;
- Grows in their understanding of the Christian faith and Scripture;
- Serves as the hands and feet of Christ in the church, in their home, and in the world.

Vacation Bible Camp
The world is coming to Houston, and First Houston United Methodist Church is joining the celebration! We invite your children to The World’s Cup Vacation Bible Camp at our Downtown Campus. Instead of just watching the global excitement, your kids will experience it through a week of international games, teamwork, and faith-building. Early Bird (January 1 – March 31): $100 per camper and Regular Admissions (Starting April 1): $125 per camper.
Summer Youth Camp
First Methodist Houston youth are headed to the Texas Annual Conference Summer Youth Camp at Lakeview this June! Don’t miss this incredible week of “Thrive in ’25” games, worship, and new friendships. Registration is open now through May 15.

2026 Children & Youth Stock Campaign: “Investing in the Future Today”
This May, we’re excited to launch our 2026 Children and Youth Stock Campaign with the theme: “Investing in the Future Today.” Camps, retreats, and mission trips offer life-changing opportunities for students (and adults) to encounter God’s love and grace and to grow in their discipleship through spiritual formation, service, and fellowship.

5th – 12th Graders are invited to join us on Sunday. This is a time to dig deeper into Scripture, fellowship, and grab a bite to eat, as we read and discuss together. Following our scope and sequence, students study a book of the Bible in succession to gain a more complete understanding of the text. Following our discussion, we will spend time in fellowship before Students are dismissed to worship.
