Pastors Weekly Email with Pastor Eric Pugh

Grace and peace to you!

This is one of my favorite greetings that Paul uses throughout many of his letters. As you read this today, I pray that you are filled with God’s Grace and Peace. Grace and peace show up in different ways for each of us.

This week I have been able to experience God’s grace and peace each day during Vacation Bible Camp. I know some of you might be thinking, yeah right, VBC is crazy there is no way that you are experiencing grace or peace. Let me assure you that each day as we have gathered for the opening chapel and throughout our activities God’s grace and peace have been everywhere. It has been in the songs we sing, the games we play, the trips we take, the crafts we make and in all the things we learn together.

This week we have focused on God’s love for us that is found and reflected in creation, especially the stars. One of our focus verses has been Psalm 8. In verse 3-4 the psalmist writes, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are humans that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?”. Who are we that the creator of the universe would not only know us, but care for us? We are beloved children of God who have been made in the image of God to reflect the love, grace and peace of God to others.

I encourage you to take a moment today, to give thanks for all of God’s creation, especially yourself and remember that the God who has created the moon, sun, stars and everything else, knows who you are and cares about you. I also want to invite you to worship with us this Sunday as we dig deeper into Psalm 8 and declare along with the psalmist “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth!”.

Grace and Peace,
