“Little children, let us love not in word or tongue, but in action and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
Hello Church,
I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I want to let you know that we are monitoring the weather and will send out a communication on Saturday confirming our plan. We will be rescheduling the Administrative Board meeting that was planned for this Sunday.
Every day when I drop my kids off for school, we have 4 little sayings we say together. I say the first few words, and then the kids finish it off. One of them is “Find somebody…to be kind to today.” Our prayer guide got me thinking about our church’s mission statement: Transforming lives and communities by putting God’s love into action. And I thought about how those 2 statements really go hand in hand. There’s so much in the world we can’t influence or control, it feels like too much. But every day, we can do this- we can put God’s love into action by finding someone to be kind to. I’m so grateful that God gives us ways, large and small, to be part of his goodness in this world.
I’m also grateful for the ways our church has been engaging in this God’s Better Future series. In the grand journey our church is on, going from here to there, our strategic plan provided many excellent “how’s”- here’s how we get from where we are to where we need to go. And we’re continuing to live into those. Hopefully in these weeks of prayer, God gives us even greater clarity about the there we’re headed, together. If God has been putting anything on your heart about our church’s future, please reply to this email, or the daily texts or emails, or write a note on the prayer board in the lobby as we near the end of this season. We will be bringing together the feedback we receive and have a way of sharing it as soon as we’re able.
Grace and Peace,
