January: A Month of Collective Discernment

Scripture: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13

Hello Church Family,
We’re doing it! We are seeking God with all our heart. In our first prayer chapel today, we invited God to do whatever He wants to in our church. This coming Sunday after worship, we’ll have our first prayer walk around the city (meet in the lobby, Pastor Eric will be handing out maps and guides). From this Sunday through the end of the month, we’ve transformed our Fellowship Hall into a labyrinth, and you can walk the labyrinth anytime you want to (there will be instructions on how to use it). Hopefully, everyone is reading the daily prayer guide, and not only reading it, but praying, and listening for what God is speaking. Because here’s what’s different from a typical devotional- we need to collect what God is saying to us in order to gain what we’re really after- hearing the voice of the Lord, together.

Here’s the ways you can share what you’re hearing:
Reply to this email
Jot it down on a post-it and put it on the prayer wall in the lobby
reply to the texts if you have registered to receive those
reply to the daily prayer guide emails if you’ve registered to receive those
Read the devotional on the church website here, click on the correct day, and fill out the “leave a reply” box at the bottom.
I know many of us have a lot going on, and committing to a daily devotional and prayer time may feel like a lot. I promise you- it’s worth it to invest this time with the Lord. It’s worth exercising the spiritual muscle of learning how to listen for God’s voice. It will be worth it to our church, for all of us to be seeking and listening God together, and sharing what we’ve heard. It will be worth finding God when we all seek him with all our heart. Thank you for making this a priority!

I can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday!

Grace and Peace
