First Students Youth Ministry

LOVE. GROW. SERVE.

First Students, our ministry designed for grades 5-12, is a place for students to connect and grow with each other and with God through relevant and engaging worship, small groups, missions, and fun special events. It is our prayer that each child here at First Methodist:

  • Loves God and is empowered to share the love of Christ with others;
  • Grows in their understanding of the Christian faith and Scripture;
  • Serves as the hands and feet of Christ in the church, in their home, and in the world.

Vacation Bible Camp
The month of May, we'll have color-coded envelopes available outside our worship areas. Each envelope represents a predetermined giving amount. Choose one that fits your heart.
We will join with other UMC churches for a week of growing closer to God and one another in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
An All Youth Mission Trip open to students who will be in the 6th – 12th grade for fall of 2025.
This is a one-time commitment on a Sunday morning to volunteer from 9:30–11:00 AM.

Sunday Morning Programming

Downtown Campus

Sunday School

9:45 – 10:55 AM 6th Floor

5th – 12th Graders are invited to join us on Sunday. This is a time to dig deeper into Scripture, fellowship, and grab a bite to eat, as we read and discuss together. Following our scope and sequence, students study a book of the Bible in succession to gain a more complete understanding of the text. Following our discussion, we will spend time in fellowship before Students are dismissed to worship.

Youth Fellowship:

1st Sundays 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM

As the name implies, youth fellowship is a time for students to gather together in community and grow in their faith formation. We will typically have a light lunch and an activity, either on campus or at a location near the church.
