I praise God for the year of prayer for our church. What a joy to wake up each morning knowing that our church family would read the same scripture and prayer. I began to feel a closeness and deep love for our church that I didn’t know existed. As most of us, I have felt concern and sorrow for our church, our country, and especially our friends in Myanmar. I have been convicted of the many times I have said, “All I can do is pray.” What I should say is, “What I CAN do is pray.” That is the most powerful gift God has given us. My eyes have been opened to new insights and opportunities, to new ways I can love my neighbors, and I eagerly wait to see where He will lead us. – Iris Ann Schmidt
