Courage for the New Thing God Is Doing

Organizational health experts talk about something called “change fatigue”. A person, or an organization, endures so much change over a period of time that they kind of reach their upper limit, and after that, every change, even good ones, feel like too much. I try to be aware of when I’m feeling change fatigue. Sometimes, that’s a nudge from God to slow down. And other times, God is still leading me forward, and I have to acknowledge my fatigue, but not let that keep me from moving where God’s leading me. In the Bible, I feel like this dance is reflected in two Scriptures:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” – Hebrews 13:8

There is a constancy available to us in the Lord, because God is always the same; and yet if God points and says Go, we have to always be willing to face the new thing with faith and hope. I encourage you to have a chat about this with the Lord, and affirm your commitment to move at the pace of the Spirit.

Our cottage meetings have gotten off to a great start this week, thank you for everyone who has signed up to participate; if you haven’t, there’s still a few spots available, you can find that below. We have an Administrative Board meeting this coming Sunday, and we’re starting to work with the Spirit Force team to implement some of the pieces of the Strategic Plan. Please keep the leadership of our church in prayer!
