Day 349

Scripture:

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

– Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

Last year, two of my granddaughters entered high school. To say I was anxious is an understatement. I wondered if they had a sincere relationship with Jesus and truly understood the unconditional sacrifice he made for them – giving them love, peace, joy, grace, forgiveness and a fruitful life. I prayed for godly friends. They did well academically and athletically. As freshmen they each earned a letterman’s jacket in their respective sport. One of the granddaughters had Psalm 28:7 inscribed on the back of her jacket. This is not a verse most students use, and it wasn’t one I was familiar with. After reading the verse I cried and thanked God. I sing His praise for giving me a sign that they do know him and have a relationship with him. – June Buford
