Day 20

Scripture:
At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place. Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth. After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard. God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend. – Job 37:1-5 (ESV)

Elihu is speaking to Job about listening to God. God is so powerful, yet we often forget to listen. He speaks in many ways. God speaks through His creation, nature; God speaks through his people, prophets and friends; God speaks quietly to us directly when we turn off the noise and listen. Turn off the noise today and make time to listen. Think about this verse and ask God to speak to You.

Prayer:
Dear God, I confess I don’t always pause to listen to you. I confess I don’t always notice the many ways You are speaking to me. Give me wisdom as I align my life towards listening to You. Help me to turn off the noise, pause, and wait. Help me to hear Your voice.
