Scripture:
Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. – Rom 12:1-2 (NIV)
It has always been God’s desire to be close and intimate with His people. Unfortunately, sin entered the world through Adam and Eve and created a gulf between us and God. But because of his love for humanity, Christ Jesus came into the world to bridge this gulf so that we can be close to God once again. Today, He lives in the believer through the Holy Spirit, which is why we present ourselves as a living and holy sacrifice.
Prayer:
Lord, I present every aspect of my being – my body, my mind, my will and my emotions to you. Purify me on Your altar and transform my mind through Your Word and by the Holy Spirit so that I may discern Your good, acceptable and perfect will.
