Thanksgiving Devotion Nov 25

Scripture: Colossians 3:15
Greetings and warm wishes to you and your family this season! This year has been full of many things that have challenged us in one way or another. At times, it could seem like there is much more to be discouraged about than to be thankful for when we see the state of the world around us. However, as Christians, there is a heavenly peace that we are called to and have the opportunity to experience while still living on earth. This peace is what grants us the enduring strength and perspective to know that no matter what happens here on earth – God is in control! For that, we can always be thankful.
No matter what you may be experiencing this holiday season, I encourage you to take a moment to remember that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and he dwells within each of us. There are many reasons to be thankful when looking through heaven’s perspective! Peace and thankfulness go hand in hand. When we come to the place of remembering Jesus as our source of security, stability and peace – our hearts can’t help but be thankful! Try it. Take a moment to reflect on God’s faithfulness and goodness in your life. Allow his peace to calm your thoughts. Now take advantage of this opportunity to let his peace remind your heart of all the ways it can give thanks.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, help me to remember that your peace surpasses my understanding. Open my eyes to what I have to be thankful for and encourage my heart to trust you with each new day. You’ve never failed, and you never will! Amen.
