Pastor Chris Waks will be leading a book study on Father Gregory Boyle book Tattoos on the Heart: The Boundless Power of Compassion. Boyle started runs Homeboy Industries, a gang-intervention program located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, the gang capital of the world. In this book, Boyle details his experience working in the non-privileged communities into a breathtaking series of parables inspired by faith, telling stories of God showing up in the most unexpected places. Boyle’s book will make us laugh and cry, and teach us to see one another with more compassion, as beloved children of God.
