Calling for Volunteers

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:10)

Shortly after this pandemic began, volunteers made calls to as many of the congregation as they could reach, speaking words of encouragement and checking on their well-being.  We were rewarded with a warm reception, praise and gratitude that their church cares for them.  Some were in need of prayer, food, counseling, and friendship.

During the six months that have passed, situations may have changed and fatigue may have set in, so we would like to repeat the cycle of calls to check on our members.  Our ambitious plans call for lots of volunteers, since we will be calling several hundred members.  Will you be one of these volunteers?  Keeping in touch with other church members and hearing their pandemic stories will foster a sense of community, and you will feel gratified for having reached out to others.  A script will be provided to jump-start the conversation, and you’ll be given instructions on what to do if you find that someone needs help that the church might be able to provide.

To receive instructions, script, and calling list, contact Pastor Donyale Fraylon or Volunteer Coordinator Carolyn Harris.
