Welcome to the Quillian Recreation Center, the Recreation Ministry of First Methodist Houston located on the Westchase Campus at 10570 Westpark Dr. @ Sam Houston Tollway.

We hope you will enjoy the following pages and learn more about the programs that we offer. Quillian Center has been a part of First Methodist Houston since 1959. Named in memory of Pastor Paul Quillian, the center has served the leisure needs of the First Methodist Family and the community for over 40 years. In 1996 Quillian Center relocated this vital ministry to the Westchase Campus at 10570 Westpark Dr. @ Sam Houston Tollway.  Recreational opportunities are provided for the members of First Methodist Houston and the community. Quillian has built a reputation of offering quality programs at a first class facility led by a caring and professional staff.

Quillian Center will continue to minister leisure opportunities including after-school care, summer day camp activities, sports, enrichment classes, aquatic programs, and special events to children, youth, adults, and senior adults. Financial assistance is available for many of our programs.

The facilities at Quillian Center include two lighted softball fields, an open air pavilion, soccer fields, a 400 meter fitness trail, playgrounds, and a beautiful aquatic venue which features a 25 meter pool, diving board, and slides. Most guests enjoy spending time at the Noah’s Ark Play Pool designed for the smaller children who enjoy the water spraying from the animals, the slides, and the tipping coconut tree. It now includes an indoor gymnasium, game room, and climbing wall for those participating in scheduled activities. Also concessions, showers, lockers, and plenty of parking are provided for our guest’s convenience. The programs are available on a fee-based structure.

You do not need to be a member of Quillian Center to enjoy these activities, however, membership privileges include discounts, priority registration, open gym/pavilion times, free swim dates, and quarterly publications.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Quillian Recreational Ministries is to provide recreational opportunities to the members of First Methodist Houston and the city. In our facilities, children, youth, adults, and senior adults can exercise mind, body, and soul in a Christian atmosphere.

To carry out its mission it shall be the purpose of Quillian Center to provide an environment where:

•	Participants can  maintain their health, develop their bodies,  and enjoy relaxation within a Christian community.
•	Individual skills and personalities come together for a common good in ministry to one another.
•	Friendly competition is focused on improving skills and self- esteem rather than winning at all costs.
•	A loving and caring staff encourages individual personalities to develop in healthy ways.
•	Leisure time is recognized as an opportunity to be creative and build meaningful relationships.
•	Participants are exposed to a Christian lifestyle and Biblical values through prayer, teaching, and example.
•	Participants of all races, ethnic groups, and abilities work together, play together, and learn from each other.
•	Year round recreational opportunities are provided and accessible to the average citizen.
