AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Quillian Recreation Center has been offering quality After-School Programs for over 20 years. We currently serve schools in both Alief ISD (Heflin, Budewig, Outley and Sneed) and Houston ISD (Shadowbriar and Askew) as well as Wesley Academy. New area schools may be added, as long as there will be a minimum of 8 children attending the program. Quillian has three buses that provide additional safety for your children on his or her way back from school.
The After-School Program offers a snack when your child arrives, structured and non-structured time for the children in the pavilion upon arrival and supervised time in the homework room is a must for children 1st thru 8th grade. Kindergarten children have the option to do their homework or participate in other activities. Children enjoy arts & crafts, table games, outdoor play, access to gym for indoor play and a game room with an air hockey table, pool tables, ping pong and foosball.
Enrichment classes are also planned each semester for an additional cost. An effort is made to include a wide variety of lessons such as dance, chess, art, golf, rock climbing, gymnastics, tennis and science. All classes are taught by experienced teachers.
Drop-in Care is available during most school holidays for those registered in the after-school program. Please call in advance to make arrangements for your child care. Drop-in Care begins at 7 a.m. and your child must bring a lunch. Snacks will be provided. The cost for Drop-in Care is $30.00 per child.
Registration fees for our After-School Program is $75 per year.
The monthly tuition fee (including full day-care on most school holidays) is $240.00
(Tuition will be pro-rated in August and December)

ENRICHMENT CLASSES
Children's Rock Climbing
Children learn the fundamentals of rock climbing in fun and energetic atmosphere. Perfect for beginners or experienced climbers. Rock climbing enables children to cope with fear and stress and encourages both self-reliance and responsibility.
When: Tuesdays, January 15 to February 12
Time: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Where: Quillian Gymnasium
Fee: Quillian Member $ 65; Non-Member, $75
Hook A Kid On Golf
Practice the fundamentals of golf while learning safety, strategy and golf etiquette. Children between the ages of nine to fourteen learn the essentials of putting, chipping, and driving while focusing on swing development. Golfers will meet at the Quillian Center at 4:00 p.m. and will be transported to a local driving range. Golfers will return to Quillian at 5:30. Clubs are provided.
When: Tuesdays, April 1 to April 29
Time: 4 - 5:30 p.m.

Children's Scrapbooking
Children, ages five to fourteen, create special memories through scrapbooking as they learn new techniques. They will also make their own scrapbook of favorite photos to share with friends and family.
When: Wednesdays, January 23 to March 12
Time: 4 - 5 p.m.
Where: Quillian Multi Purpose Room
Fees: Quillian Members $95; Non Members $100
Cheerleading
In this class, children benefit form team spirit, hard work, accomplishments, self esteem building activities, physical conditioning and fun. Learn new chants, yells and routines.
When: Fridays, February 22 to March 28
Time: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Where: Quillian Gymnasium
Fee: Quillian Members $85; Non-Members $90
Junior Jazzercise
Junior Jazzercise is a new program focused on promoting physical fitness for school age children. Children will move to their favorite songs, improve coordination, balance, posture, confidence and endurance to be stronger for any sport or activity. The class will be for children between the ages of 6 to 12.
When: Thursdays
Session I: January 17 to February 21
Session II: March 6 to April 17 (please note there will be no class on March 20)
Time: 6 - 7 p.m.
Where: Multi Purpose Room at the Quillian Center
Registration Fee: $35
Tuition: Members $75 and Non Members $85
