Join us in ministry! Go with us as we take the love of Jesus to those in need.

Myanmar (Burma)
Thailand borders Myanmar (Burma) to the west and is home to more than one million Burmese refugees. First Methodist Houston partners with Feed My Lambs, a home for Burmese refugee children and young people designed to educate and equip them with skills to help them return to Burma as leaders one day. The team serves in the children’s home with activities, Bible studies, fun outings and travels into Burma border villages to lead evangelistic programs for the children and participate in home visits. This is a great trip for teachers or those who like relational ministry with children and families.

They are dedicated to the mobilization of missionaries, communities, leaders, ministries and organizations to fulfill the Great Commission. We will be partnering with them to open doors to the Gospel that have been previously closed. Join our youth team this summer as we go serve very poor families with service projects, evangelistic outreaches, and providing activities for a children’s program.

Eagle Pass
Eagle Pass is a quiet border city where 38% of the population lives below the poverty level. Participate in light home repair and construction for needy families and minister through evangelistic outreaches. It is a great trip for those who like to serve through hands on construction. You do not need prior construction skills to be a part of this mission.

Cuba
Although limitations are great, the opportunities for evangelism through creative means are strong. Our teams provide training, encouragement and support to Cuban believers at our sister church just outside Havana. *By application only; must be First Methodist member with previous mission trip experience and a heart for relational evangelism and discipleship.

Honduras
There are 783 million people that lack access to an improved source of drinking water. That’s one in 9 people. Be a part of this team that delivers the hope of the Gospel by digging a water well and teaching hygiene classes to the families living in the village. This is a great trip for people who like to work on physical labor projects or like working with women and children.

Guatemala Surgical Mission
We serve with Project Salud y Paz on one of their five medical clinics across Guatemala, providing much-needed surgeries for the poor. This team has specific medical staff needs and is a great ministry for health professionals.

Ladies’ Nicaragua Mission
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in Latin America. Partnering with Open Hearts Mission in Managua, the team of women will work with mothers and children living in poverty on outreaches, while focusing on the inward spiritual disciplines in worship and devotional time. This is a great trip for personal reflection and service for women.

Haiti
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere where 80% live in poverty with 54% in abject poverty. Serving with Mission of Hope Haiti in our adopted village of Source Matelas, we focus on relational outreach and ministries to families in the community and small work projects. This is a great trip for anyone with a heart for people of all ages. There is a variety of ways to serve, including hands-on projects, evangelism and prayer ministry.
