Everyone, no matter their age or ability, can play an active role in helping to share the love, grace and good news of Christ with others. Several volunteer opportunities are available at First Methodist Houston and its partner agencies. Click on the link below to view our service opportunities booklet. We look forward to serving with you.
Wesley Community Center
Wesley Community Center provides a comprehensive array of early childhood education, out-of-school elementary and youth programming, senior and social services, community outreach, and economic development services dedicated to helping low and moderately low-income families achieve and maintain financial self-sufficiency and move up the economic ladder. We encourage you to participate in the opportunities available at Wesley to make a difference in a life. You could be the arms that carry an aging senior’s bag of food during our monthly Food Distributions, the hands that build shelves for the Early Childhood Education rooms, or your warm heart and determination can encourage a youth to achieve and succeed during our After School Program.
To find out what volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, please contact Janice Colburn, Community Outreach Coordinator, at email@example.com or 713-821-8907.
Judy Bush Elementary School
Bush Elementary has a high minority population. 89% of its students are considered economically disadvantaged. We work with Communities in Schools, a dropout prevention program aimed at keeping kids in school by meeting the needs of students and their families. Volunteers help students with their homework and spend some time in recreation. http://bush.aliefisd.net
