BUSH ELEMENTARY AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
BUSH ELEMENTARY AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM: Several times each semester, members of Stitches of Glory, the sewing circle at the Westchase Campus, hold after-school classes to teach third and fourth grade boys and girls at Bush Elementary sewing skills, both by hand and on a machine. This program is continuing to grow and provide more activities for these children.

We need: men and women who can listen to children read, as well as support for our newest project - the Model Airplane construction classes for fourth grade boys.

All classes are held at Bush Elementary, located at 9730 Stroud, 77036. The school phone number is 713-272-3220. To volunteer with Bush Elementary, contact Paula Ray at 281-469-4888.

GREGORY LINCOLN MENTORS AND SPONSORS
First Methodist Houston is partners with Gregory-Lincoln Education Center, a K-8th grade HISD Fine Arts Magnet school located at the corner of Dallas and Taft. We help meet the school-related needs of students by providing school supplies, gym and school uniforms, shoes, hygiene and toiletry items - whatever needs arise at the school.

We also take time to help students progress academically. Gregory Lincoln is looking to find more volunteers to act as mentors and tutors to the students at Gregory Lincoln Education Center. The school will work with your schedule and is flexible about the time and day you tutor. You will see direct results from the efforts you put in.

Gregory Lincoln Education Center is located at 1101 Taft. The school phone number is 713-942-1400. For more information about volunteering, please contact Kim James (see information above).

DISASTER RELIEF SERVICES
First Methodist Houston's Disaster Relief Team is looking for willing individuals like you! Disaster Relief Services will provide support to those suffering as a result of natural or man-made disasters in a manner that shows Christ cares for these injured individuals.

The largest part of Disaster Relief Services will be the Early Responder Team (ERT). The ERT is a formalized team that works with other ERTs from the Texas Annual Conference. There are various roles to fill, both as on-site and at home team members.

We are looking to form a team of individuals of all ages who is able to deploy during times of disaster. This team will be capable of being deployed within 250 miles from Houston, and on more rare occasions to national/international disaster sites.
Note: Only those 18 and over may deploy; those under 18 can serve on the home-based team.

ERT members are trained with Partners in Mission of the Texas Annual Conference. Watch for the next training date.
