Wednesday Night Fellowship

Join us on Wednesdays for The Connection, a special mid-week worship service at the Downtown Campus, 1320 Main St. @ Clay, just for young adults. Click here for more information.

Sunday School

If you are 18-29, in college or a career and do not have a Sunday School class, come and join the Redeemed Young Adults for lively and thoughtful teaching, discussion of God's Word and fellowship.This class, taught by Keitha West, meets Sundays at 10:12 a.m. in Room 219 of  Wesley Academy located at the Westchase Campus, 10570 Westpark Dr. @ Sam Houston Tollway. ACTIVITIES
2008 looks to be a great year as we continue to reach out to college students in the Houston area. We are planning many great activities for this year.

Movie Night
Come with us Thursday, May 22, to see Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Exact show times and theater location TBA. Contact Kim (see information above) for more details.

Summer Barbecue at McKaskle Retreat Center
Join us at McKaskle Retreat Center Saturday, June 21, from 5 to 10 p.m., for an evening of food, fun and fellowship. Activities will include Capture the Flag, Frisbee, football, hiking, outdoor games and much more. We will close out the night with s'mores and a special bonfire worship time led by Austin Kincannon. Wear your sunscreen and bring your game face! To RSVP or for more details, contact Kim (see information above).

Service
We have a Honey-Do program to help our elderly members with light house repairs and chores. This part of our ministry is new and growing. Check back often for updates.

College Outreaches 2008

University of Houston Great Giveaway
April 8 and 9, we handed out a few hundred pieces of candy at U of H to share the love of Jesus and tell the students about the ministry opportunities available at First Methodist Houston.

Rice Game Day
Recently we have had some students come to church from Rice University. They shared with us a desire to connect First Methodist Houston to their campus.

So, on Sunday, March 30, we took over 70 Young Adults and Youth after our 11:00 a.m. worship Downtown to the Rice Baseball game. Our Youth Choir began the game singing the National Anthem. We watched this exciting game vs. Southern Mississippi and passed out hundreds of pens and cards inviting people to First Methodist between the innings. Rice played their heart out, and our group enjoyed the intensity of the competition. After the game, Jimmy Comerota (Rice second baseman) gave a Christian witness and shared some Scriptures that help him succeed in baseball.
