Quillian Center believes that youth activities should be fun and instructional while helping kids develop a positive self-image. Youth sports activities at Quillian Center promote good sportsmanship and respect for others. Through youth sports, kids learn the value of participating as a team while improving upon their individual health and fitness level. Quillian Recreation Ministries encourages parents to become involved with their child’s youth sports experience as a volunteer coach, team parent or official.

Quillian would like to invite everyone to come and spend a fun filled evening at the Toyota Center watching the Houston Rockets take on the Utah Jazz.. Tickets are now on sale for the February 19th game at 6:00pm, and part of each ticket sale goes back to the Quillian Youth Basketball program.

You may purchase $15 or $20 tickets, and each person that purchases a ticket will be invited to shoot a free throw on the court after the game.

The deadline to order tickets is February 11th. Order forms are available in the Quillian Gymnasium or you may contact Derek Devore 713-458-4730 or ddevore@fmhouston.com to purchase or inquire about tickets. We hope to see you there.

Youth Basketball

Calling all kids age 5-14 it is time to grab your shoes and head to Quillian for the Winter Youth Basketball season. Quillian’s Youth Basketball program is a top notch program that boasts great coaching and fun competition. Quillian Youth Basketball is a co-ed league that is perfect for children of all skill levels. Equal playing time, weekly practices, a Christian atmosphere, jerseys and awards for all, and the unique Q-Star All-star weekend are all part of this great program. Coaching Opportunities

Quillian is looking for a few good men . . . and women. If you have the passion and desire to help children grow in their athletic abilities our coaching program is just for you. Volunteer coaches play a substantial role in the athletic programs of Quillian Recreation, and we need you. You bring the passion, joy, and patience and we will provide the training. Coaching positions are available for our upcoming Youth Basketball Program.

High School Basketball League:

School has started which means basketball season is just around the corner. Quillian is gearing up for another great season of Quillian High School Basketball. This program is great for youth groups, neighborhoods, school teams, and just friends looking to play basketball. This unique league is for students, grades 9 - 12, that are not currently playing on their varsity basketball teams. This 8 week season is full of fun and great competition as some of the best from around Houston come to show off their talents. You may register as an individual or as a team, and we promise no lock out here.

The cost of an individual is $95 and the cost is $600 to place a team in the league, if you would like for us to provide jerseys it is $650. To register as an individual or a team you must register in house by coming in or requesting a registration form. Each team will play an 8 week season and have at least one playoff game. Although all teams will make the playoffs only the top two finishers of the playoffs will be awarded trophies.

Registration opens October 17th  for the High School Basketball league, and the first game is January 5th.. The deadline to register is December 19th. All games will be played at the Quillian Center, 10570 Westpark Dr. @ Sam Houston Tollway.

What do you get when you combine the strength of sports and the power of the Word of God? Quillian’s Faith in Full Action bible study. FIFA is a six week sports bible study held on Wednesday nights in the Quillian Gymnasium for grades 2- 6. Combining fun packed games and unique sports based devotionals FIFA offers a program that is not to be missed.

Our next session of FIFA will begin on January 25th and runs from 6:30 - 8:00pm each Wednesday.

The cost is $3 per child (for food) and is open to both members and non-members of the church. We hope to see you there. 

Quillian Center is proud to participate in Fun, Fair, Positive Soccer.  This program develops youth soccer leagues with special rules and extensive training given to ensure a maximum of Fun, Fairness, Self-esteem building, Success and a Positive experience in which Positive behavior and Positive values can be realized for every player and the parent are Positive Fans "For the Kids."  All players rotate to each position and every player plays EQUALLY each game. We use a specially designed "Equal Substitution System" to guarantee this. Also, FFPS has no tryouts or all-star teams, and all teams are balanced.
