Quillian Recreation Center has been offering quality after school programs for over 20 years for ages K-8th grade. Currently our buses serve:

• Alief ISD: $250* per month for Sneed, Budewig and Outley.
• Houston ISD: $250* per month for Shadowbriar, Walnut Bend, and Askew. BriarMeadow is $275,
• Spring Branch ISD: $250*per month for Frostwood and Rummel Creek.
• Wesley Academy: $250* per month - drop in care is available for these students.

Registration fees for our After-School Program is $75 per year. (Tuition will be pro-rated in August and
    December.)

The Quillian staff has worked very hard to make this a fun and safe program. Our after school counselors are excited about working with your child! Each day the children are provided with a snack and supervised time for homework. The children will also enjoy time in the game room and gymnasium. Children may stay at Quillian as late as 6:30pm. Facilities also include a cool playground, an indoor climbing wall and swimming pool. All in a well lit and clean atmosphere.

Quillian will offer enrichment opportunities for after school students such as dance, chess, golf, art, rock climbing, drama, and gymnastics. Quillian also offers organized sports programs throughout the year including basketball, soccer, and flag football.

Drop-in care is available during Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Breaks as well as most school holidays for those registered in the After School Program. If your child is not registered in the After School Program, please call in advance to make drop in arrangements for your child care. Drop-in care begins at 7:00am on selected school holidays.

• President’s Day, February 20, 2012
• Spring Break, March 12-16, 2012
• Easter Monday, April 9, 2012

Quillian will be closed on the following days: 

• MLK Day, January 16, 2012
• Good Friday, April 6, 2012

Quillian Center will be providing full time care for children between the ages of 5 to 14 during Spring Break. Care is available to students who are not enrolled in the after school program. Care begins at 7:00am every day and ends at 6:30pm. Parents must pack a lunch for their children and Quillian will provide snacks throughout the course of the day. Children will participate in activities that range from games, crafts and various fun and energetic activities. On site Quillian has beautiful amenities including our rock wall, gym, playgrounds, fields and game room.

Spring Break Care: March 12 - 16
Cost: $40 per day

COOKING FOR KIDS

Do you have a budding chef in the making? Quillian Center will have a cooking class for children between the ages of 5 to 14, starting January 24 until February 28. the second session will start on March 6 and end May 15. Students will learn safety in the kitchen while at the same time creating some delicious treats. This is a fun, fast-paced, hands-on class, where student will make 2-3 things each week using new techniques and hopefully try new foods.

 MARTIAL ARTS

 

This is a great class for kids to get in shape by exercising their mind and bodies. They will have the opportunity to learn the basics tenets of martial arts and work on agility and defensive movements. The following values will be focused on during the classes:

ROCK CLIMBING FOR KIDS

Kids will learn the basic skills of rock climbing such as climbing, belaying, learn commands, safety on the wall, and enjoy weekly rock climbing challenges. Rock climbing is a great class to keep the kids physically and mentally fit.

Kidz Night Out is hosted by Quillian Center twice a month just for kids. Kids between the ages of 5 to 14 will engage in a fun, energetic and safe environment focused on keeping kids active. Kids have an opportunity to hang out with friends, interact with a professional, fun loving staff and participate in activities that will want them coming back for more!      items such as candy, chips and drink.

    We encourage kids to wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. No wheelies. For our themed 
    events kids can dress up according to the themed party.

Valentines Day is around the corner. Are you looking to escape from the kids for a few hours to enjoy a special date night? Well look no further than the Quillian Center. We will be hosting a special Kidz Night Out on Tuesday February 14th from 6:00 to10:00pm. We will have Valentines crafts, face painting, games and much more.

The fees for the night will be $20 per child. All fees include dinner. Additional discounts will be given if you have more than one child.

What do you get when you combine the strength of sports and the power of the Word of God? Quillian’s Faith in Full Action bible study. FIFA is a six week sports bible study held on Wednesday nights in the Quillian Gymnasium for grades 2- 6. Combining fun packed games and unique sports based devotionals FIFA offers a program
that is not to be missed.

Our next session of FIFA will begin on January 25th and runs from 6:30 - 8:00pm each Wednesday.

The cost is $3 per child (for food) and is open to both members and non-members of the church.
