NEED A PASTOR? OR WOULD YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?
Need to talk to a Pastor? Call either our Downtown Campus at 832-668-1800, or our Westchase Campus at 713-458-4700 to make an appointment.

PRAYER AND HEALING SERVICE

At 12:05pm, in the Bintliff Chapel at the Downtown Campus, Communion and prayer for healing are offered. A pastor or prayer minister offers Holy Communion and prays for each individual upon request. This immediately follows the conclusion of the 11:00am worship service.

We read with confidence the stories of Jesus’ healings while he walked the earth. We believe that God passed these gifts to his followers as Jesus’ earthly mission concluded. And yet, we often have difficulty seeing the reality that God still offers the world His gift of healing today.

It does not matter if the hurt is physical, emotional, or spiritual – God loves us and wants to heal all types of hurts and make us whole. Is someone close to you hurting? Please invite them to join us for this very special night of praise and worship, inspiring message and testimonies, Holy Communion, intercessory prayer and anointing of oil.

Questions? Contact Rev. Charles Thompson at: cthompson@fmhouston.com or 832-668-1800.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

A Stephen Minister is:
  • A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting
  • A congregation member with gifts for caregiving who is
carefully selected to serve in this role
  • Someone who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care
  • A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages
  • Someone who will “be there” for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need
Stephen Ministers provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Hospitalization, chronic or terminal illness
  • Divorce or separation
  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • Incarceration
  • Aging
  • Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
  • Recovery after an accident or disaster
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister, or if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, call the Stephen Ministry helpline number: 713-458-4709, and someone will contact you.
