Small Group Bible Studies Meeting in Neighborhoods:
Groups are forming in different parts of the city for small group Bible study. The “good life” in Christ is life shaped by God’s grace. Opening our lives to God’s grace through small group Bible study reshapes our desires, thoughts, feelings, and actions. Current opportunities include:
- 1960 / Champions / Jersey Village: Host home - Rev. Mark and Sara Welshimer, Sundays 5 – 7 p.m., beginning Oct. 4. Six week study: Attentiveness: Being Present to God.
- Mid-Town / West Gray: Ongoing Women’s Small Group. Host Home – Marcie Hysinger, Leader Nancy Jenkins, Mondays 12 – 1 p.m. Study: How the Psalms Teach Us to Talk to God.
- Westchase / Briar Forest / Memorial / Galleria: Host Home – Fred and Lynette Crawford, Leader Rev. Charles Thompson. Thursdays, 7 – 8:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 8. Study: Attentiveness: Being Present to God (6 weeks).
- Meyerland / Bellaire / Sharpstown / Braeswood : Ongoing Women’s Small Group. Host home - Betty Shaw, Leader Rev. Jan Imig, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4 p.m. Study: Forgiveness, Letting Go.
- East End Bible Study: Host home – Ward and Iris Ann Schmidt, Ongoing, First Mondays, 7 - 8 p.m. Study: How the Psalms Teach Us to Talk to God.
- Mid-Town, Museum, Afton Oaks, Memorial Part DT: Host home – Rev. Jan and Dale Imig, Leader : Ward Schmidt, Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 7. Study: Enough, Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity (6 weeks).
