Like seeds planted in good soil, First Methodist Houston's women are growing in the image of Christ through a variety of Women's Ministry opportunities (Luke 8:5-8). We are an active group of women eager to serve God and His people as we grow in faith together. With God's help through prayer, Bible study, mission, mentoring, and retreat we can make a difference...each for the other; all for God!

Women's Retreat Ministry

Recently a group of Westchase and Downtown women gathered to discuss how we can better serve our members. Through Women’s Ministry we hope to nurture your faith and help you grow in your relationship with the Lord. Please pray with us as we seek to make our Women’s Ministry vital and relevant.

You can help us discern what you need from us by completing the attached survey. Please download the survey, respond to the questions, and either mail in or return the form to the Welcome Center at the campus you attend.

God has so much in store for us, and we want to walk closely with him in order to be his disciples and share his hope with others along the way. Thank you for your input.

Because of Christ,

First Methodist Women’s Ministry

Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:3

New classes beginning September 3.

First Place 4 Health is a program whose members encourage and challenge one another to meet their fitness goals. Each weekly group meeting includes a weigh-in, nutritional information, class discussion, Bible study discussion and prayer.

Maybe you are struggling with losing 5 to 10 pounds or are battling obesity. Perhaps you want to increase your knowledge about nutrition, to get help with implementing a consistent exercise plan or want to learn how to develop a healthy lifestyle for your family. Whatever your reasons, you’ll soon discover that First Place 4 Health is a biblically based, medically trustworthy wellness program that addresses the whole person—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Ongoing projects include caps for the homeless, baby layettes, neck coolers for our troops, robes, lap quilts and bibs for hospitals.  Patterns are very easy and are geared for the beginner seamstress.  Any and all are invited to take part in the sewing missions.  Come learn new skills or share your expertise with others.

Plan to stay for fellowship and lunch! Meet the group in Room 606 at 9:00am on Thursday.
