Immerse yourself in the Gospel of Luke this Lenten season as together
we Journey to Jerusalem for the final time with Jesus.
As a part of this new message series beginning March 9, Dr. Wende will take us along the path Jesus traveled and expose us to people, places and events that impacted lives and changed hearts back then. They can still have the same effect today.
Together, we will read daily from Luke (chapters 9- 24) as if we are traveling with Jesus. A travel Passport to Jerusalem with chapter readings will be handed out to everyone on Sunday, March 9. As you complete the readings for each week through Easter, take your passport to the Downtown Welcome Center and volunteers will stamp it to mark your progress. When you have finished the readings that continue until Easter, bring them to the Welcome Center to receive a small gift. Youth and children will have their own passports and will follow along with the adults.
Imagine yourself in worship each Sunday to hear inspirational messages and see archaeological slides of the places that Jesus traveled and what they look like today. Caution: Be prepared for an adventure.
As you read and worship, ask yourself these questions:
- How will I see Jesus along the way?
- What characters and stories resonate with me?
- What path will I take to walk along side the one who set his face towards Jerusalem?
- What did I read that I didn't already know?
Are you ready for an amazing journey? Join us as we "travel" to:
March 9 - Capernaum - Dr. Steve Wende
March 16 - Samaria - Rev. Terence Hagans
March 23 - Jericho - Dr. Steve Wende
March 30 - Bethany - Dr. Steve Wende
