  The Reason For God
by Timothy Keller - Belief in an age of scepticism.

For the last decade, the Christian faith has been under assault by a new kind of skeptic: militant atheists attacking Christianity and the Church with seemingly endless passion. It is as if they are on a mission from God to end faith in God!  If you have not read their books (often bestsellers) others have, and many of their ideas have gotten into the culture all around us.  In a clear, understandable, and intelligent way, Keller takes them on. Reading this book is like having coffee with a very wise person and listening as he answers with grace question after question, attack after attack. If you don't need this book yourself, you know someone who does. - Steve

(Available in Hidden Treasures: Paperback $16.00) For more information contact Gale Houk at: 832-668-1876 between 10:00am and 3:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday.

What's So Amazing About Grace?
by Philip Yancey
If grace is so amazing, why don't Christians show more of it?

This is a recent classic, exploring some of the most powerful and heart changing teachings of the Christian faith. The biblical concept of “grace” gives us insight into the nature of God and of human life as God intended it to be lived. - Steve

(Available in Hidden Treasures: Hardback - $19.99, Paperback - $14.99). To have it shipped, or for more information contact Gale Houk at: 832-668-1876 between 10:00am and 3:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday.

  Love Letters from God
by Bonnie G. Schluter
Affirmations for Your Soul

A friend on mine told me about a book that she swears got her through tough seminary classes. It is called Love Letters from God  by Bonnie G. Schluter.  I bought a copy, and I use it as a part of my daily, morning devotionals. First I read a chapter or two from my Bible, and then I open up Love Letters from God.  What’s on my heart that I need to read an intimate, love letter from God to me? Am I struggling with letting go of the past? Do I want to count my blessings? Do I need Direction?  No matter my need for the day. I feel uplifted and refreshed once I read a letter from God.  I have Scripture in my heart and a letter from God in my mind. I am ready to face the day! - Ann

(Available in Hidden Treasures: Paperback $15.99). To have it shipped, or for more information contact Gale Houk at: 832-668-1876 between 10:00am and 3:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday.

Is The Father of Jesus The God of Muhammad?
by Timothy George
Understanding the difference between Christianity and Islam.

I heartily recommend Is The Father of Jesus the God Of Muhammad? It is by Timothy George, an outstanding author and scholar. It brings an accurate historic understanding of the rise of Islam, coupled with a clear analysis of its core beliefs. The author is a Christian who loves Muslims even if he disagrees with their beliefs. The book, in other words, is written without meanness. It keeps an objective tone throughout, and focuses on the central question lifted in the title: what is the difference between Islam and Christianity in their understandings of God? You will enjoy this book, and at the end of it you will probably understand, not only Islam better, but your own faith. - Steve
